Hey FLAUTISTS! :D C'mon practice hard,let's make miracles happen,okay in fact,it's not a miracle,we can do it only when we practice reaaaaal hard!

Take note of the accidentals e.g ♯,♭and I realised most of you see G♭as A♭ instead of F♯. Start practicing chromatic scales! And you guys are very unfamilliar with high notes. Lastly,INTONATION. We are very very very out of tune,all it takes is just ONE person that don't care about the intonation then the whole section won't sound in tune. C'mon,stop being oblivious to the surroundings and start brushing up your basics.

HOI Flutes! Changed the blogskin already. Hahaha,I believe everyone gotten their SYF scores already! Except for xiuya,went for camp then now fly to malaysia huh! Okay,practice hard. At least sort out the rhythms and notes y'know! You wouldn't want to embarrass yourself by playing wrong notes.

Francise and Xiuya ah,you're gonna be seniors sooooooooon,11 more days to be exact,reach out for more targets in your playing to further improve! Yay.

And thank you Esther and Zhengjie for joining us in OPUS! Last but not least,take care of yourself and don't fall sick! Especially Jiapei ah,drink more water and eat vegetables and fruits. Okay,practice hard and love your flute, bye!

I was very glad that you guys can AT LEAST play through the Hawaii five O BUT it's not good somehow.

Francise : YOU have to sort out your fingering problems yourself. Play slowly FIRST then increase the speed WITH a metronome because I won't be there spending the sectionals time with you to practice the fingering okay? And please be in tune. Your high notes like Eb,E,F are sharp and you know what to do...(Not pull out the mouthpiece hor!) Try to learn how to vibrato cause it will definitely sound better with vibrato for your solo and i'm sure you also want to 'WOW' other schools' flute sec ones right?! So WORK VERY HARD. DON'T DEPEND ON XIUYA if not I smack you uh.

XiuYa : You tend to rush for Hawaii five O uh. Don't depend on the trumpets. Count yourself,what if the trumpets are late or earlier? Always depend on yourself. And hor,smack Francise if he ever depend on you uh! MUHAHAHHA :D Okay so you are always flat for you high notes maybe because of the wrong embouchure. And AIR SPEED,don't stuck on the same speed okay. PRACTICE REALLY HARD TOO.

AND BOTH OF YOU NEVER LOOK AT THE PERSON THAT IS STANDING IN FRONT CONDUCTING YOU ALL. Bad habit! >:(

You guys' Centuria is okay..BUT high notes and long notes are out of tune. REMEMBER YOU ONLY HAVE LESS THAN 20 DAYS!

Hey FLUTES!

First of all..Umm umm,okay I know..HAPPY NATIONAL DAY concert.

Although we lost one member but hopefully Brandon will be fine there and YOU GUYS better not be affected okay? Play LOUD but in tune. It's always okay to be out of tune but its NEVER okay if you stay out of tune! Don't always make the habit to let others tune to you but you have to learn to tune to others too!

Strive for OPUS uh! I promise OPUS will be super fun okay,you can BOND with me some more. Shy. :D

Work hard sec ones'! Don't neglect your studies also uh! 3 days to exams. Hawaii five O is alittle tricky but you guys say that it is easy..I'm worried :x On Wednesday,I will be coming IF I can to listen your Hawaii five O (: Jiayou uh,doesn't mean that we get high silver for SIBF means we are good because many bands also get silver.

Must always have this attitude to STRIVE FOR HIGHER LEVELS AND GREATER CHALLENGES! Francise uh,practice with tuner and Xiuya,your running notes!

You all own me more than 5 rounds around the parade square le! And it's still increasing because SOME of you never do my homework. >:(

BUT BUT BUT I still want you guys to KEEP ON IMPROVING and don't stay in the same level! Get Gold for SYF HOR! Even though we got Silver,86.71% but don't be upset. 3.29% to Gold but what matters is your effort and ur IMPROVEMENT! (: Like I said,the outcome are not as important as improving.

Just a few more months and a new batch of sec ones are coming! Time flies! :D

Sec ones,

I will be testing you all on Monday. Please make sure that you practice very very hard. I will only give 2-3 chances ONLY and I mean it. If you can't play,I will be cutting your parts.

I don't care if you are upset or what so if you don't want your parts to get cut,practice hard. Don't keep taking things for granted and assume that you are always right.

Today is the last sectionals and I won't be repeating what I reminded you during combine so make the effort to write it down. Those that never bring their pencils and paper or those that forgotten what I have taught you or reminded you will owe me PUNISHMENT and I'm serious about it.

Regardless of who you are,whether you are sec one or senior,ALWAYS put in your BEST effort.

Face the conductor at all times. Your face should be facing the conductor,if you can't then adjust.

Remember your HOMEWORK! Dancing in the wind 5th bar of B,the first three notes. Record that part and send to MsLoh if not,ask for her email address and email her. Take the initiative to ask if you don't know,I cannot read your minds and I won't waste the time to check on you one by one and ask you one by one.

Jin Ta, Principal Flautist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and faculty member of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory performs for the first time at the Conservatory Concert Hall. Jin Ta is a winner of numerous international music competitions, including the Boston Pappoutsakies Memorial Foundation Competition, the Memphis Young Artist Competition, and the 2000 Haifa International Flute Competition in Israel. He will perform a programme ranging from Telemann’s Flute Sonata to French composer Jolivet’s technically demanding Flute Concerto. One of the leading female flute soloists of the decade, Lady Galway brings to the audience her unique style and elegance. She is co-founder of the Galway Junior Network, an interactive website aimed towards the younger, less advanced flautist, offering tips and advice on flute playing, performing and career management. as you all may have already know,

Hey all,
as you all know MYE has finally ended!
i hope you all bring back good results cus i know
we are all very clever right!?(Excluding me)

so since MYE has ended.
which is equivalent to
band will be resuming soon.

before band resume ...
you all need to faster get back your skills
or become even better!
that way then can improve as a section mah,

i am sure.that everyone will benefit from a sectionals.
but i dont have everybody's contact no.
so i dun think its possible to hold a sectional.
so suddenly,but if you all want you all can tell me or valarine or jiapei
that you are gonna stayback after school in the canteen then see who is free then.

(season: meaning used for a very long time till nice to use
